Where people meet, ideas grow, and the community thrives.
For over 30 years, Maen Alaw has stood as a proud symbol of creativity, community and care in Penmaenmawr. We’re now entering a bold new chapter – expanding our activities, upgrading our facilities, and opening our doors even wider.
Maen Alaw was born from the vision of two local women, inspired by Māori cultural centres. With love, grit and fundraising, they transformed a derelict 19th-century quarry workers’ co-op into a thriving creative space.
Today, we continue their legacy—with new programmes, a growing team, and a mission to serve all members of our community through access to arts, wellbeing, education and support.
